iMovie '08

I just watched the keynote that Steve Jobs gave to introduce the new iMacs and new iLife 08 and the other new products (iWork). The new iMacs looked pretty good. I wouldn't mind having one of those on my desk at work. The new features to iPhoto were also pretty impressive. I liked the idea of the events. Pretty slick looking. If you were a .mac person it would be really cool with that web gallery feature. I wondered what that was written in, speaking of the web gallery; it sure looks like a flex application. That is really cool for sharing pics and movies.

The killer app for me was the iMovie demo. I don't make movies, but I was about ready to go buy a video camera after watching how easily he put together a video from different clips with transitions and sound. It was pretty awesome. The skimming was also way cool, which can be done with both iPhoto and iMovie. Another awesome feature was the ability to post video straight to youtube or .mac. Pretty cool stuff. I might be looking to upgrade to an iMac when Leopard comes out just to get the bundled software ;0)
