"...this illustrates a fundamental rule. Never trust business users to analyze their problem space correctly, whether they irritate you or not. If you build a system to their inaccurate understanding of the data, they'll blame you. (Conversely, if your code exposes flaws in their business process, they'll tell you "we can live with the way you handled that.") Their job is to give you the data and tell you the results they want. Your job is to give them the results - and since interpreting the data happens after they give you the data and before you give them the results, that means figuring out the data is your concern."

Harry Potter 7

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows I just finished reading the new Harry Potter book: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. This is the 7th and final book in the very popular J. K. Rowlings Series. All in all, I'd say that it was a good read. I'd be interested to know how much of the story she had from the beginning and how much she just made up along the way.

I'd even be tempted to re-read the entire series now that I know how it ends, to try to pick up on some of the subtleties that thread through out it. I'll admit that I have forgotten some things over the year that I waited for the final book to come out. I was lucky and started reading at book 4 when 5 and 6 were already out, so I read them back to back to back. It was definitely a challenge to wait for that final book to know the true story behind all of the other books.

It was a little long perhaps and I could have done without the final chapter about 19 years later. It seemed to be just an afterthought and had no real substance that I could see. I'll say this for her. She has got quite an imagination to dream all of that stuff up.

It ended a little happier than I'd have thought it would. I think that Snape was my favorite character in the Series. He turned out to have a very human condition.
